Benajarafe Axarquía region andalucia on the coast of the municipality of Vélez-Málaga, Spain. It is in the heart of the Axarquia region located on the Costa del Sol, in the province of Malaga. Benajarafe has 2 distinct districts. There is both Benajarafe Alto and Benajarafe Costa.
Benajarafe Alto is where the main sector of the population reside. Benajarafe Alto is mainly composed of a lot of cottages. The area is mainly inhabited by farmers. It is still in the process of becoming an urbanization. Most of the residents live in streets without asphalt. The cottages are surrounded by streams which become enlarged in the winter.

In October the Romería de la Virgen del Rosario takes place. In this festival above all it is customary to make a communal paella, in which free dishes are served to all attendees.
The “Feria” of Benajarafe is in August. The festival starts on Friday and lasts to to Sunday. The event starts by choosing the queen and her bridesmaids.
