Burriana Beach is the most popular beaches in Nerja. This lovely bustling beach is very popular with people who want a lively holiday, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants directly adjacent to the beach itself. Water sports of every type are plentiful. The beach is a wide stretch of sand, with the backdrop of cliffs and mountains and Playa Capistrano. There are also just back from the beach, many cosmopolitan restaurants and bars to enjoy virtually many kinds of cuisine to choose from.
Burriana beach is the perfect place for people who like water sports having a large number of such activities. Burriana Beach does gets quite crowded in the summer months. People tend to walk from the centre of Nerja to Burriana although older people and kids could find the walk a bit long and the journey back to town a little arduous. Therefore it is preferable to drive there or get a Nerja taxis. It’s one of the most visited beaches due to the amount of activities and services on offer. Also, it’s the only beach you can access directly from the “Parador de Turismo” in Nerja via their lift.
Burriana Beach has always been a very busy area and parking in the street can be quite complicated and in the summer its virtually impossible. There is A public car park just higher up than the beach. This has helped the parking issues. Because it’s not exactly in the center of town, most people will opt for taking their car. People have to go early to get a parking space in the street or alternatively you will have to pay for parking.
This beach year after year has been awarded blue flag for clean and safe beaches.. Also, it possessed the Q for Tourist Quality in 2016. Burrian Beach is 800m long and 40m wide and presents dark sand. This makes it one of the most visited beaches in Nerja. Normally the waves are quite moderate hence the award as mentioned above.

You will find hand made craft stores, wine and spirit merchants, shops selling clothes and shoes. There are handmade leather goods and jewellery, books, electrical goods and perfume. The main shopping areas are around the Balcon De Europa, on Calle Diputacion and on Calle Pintada.
