There are many fabulous restaurants in Nerja. The following are the restaurants within this Nerja Best restaurant guide, which JJ Nerja rentals would certainly recommend. We have used all these restaurant’s ourselves and would definitely have no hesitation in giving the following recommendations. It is true to say that the restaurants we recommend have the best culinary delights in Nerja
Hotel Avalon also one of our favorites in the Nerja Best restaurant guide
This is fast becoming one of the most popular restaurant’s in Nerja. This is certainly no doubt due to the head chef Kevin’s amazing skills. Most importantly, he is probably the most experienced chef in the Nerja area. However the amazing views from the terrace are without doubt also responsible for its growing popularity. This is certainly well worth showing in our Nerja Best restaurant guide.
The hotel Avalon is 50 metres from Playazo beach which it overlooks. It is 2 kms west of the town centre. The restaurant is set in beautiful gardens with panoramic views of the Almijara mountains and the Mediterranean sea. Avalon’s popular restaurant has a beautiful terrace for outdoor dining and an open fire for winter evenings. The view from the Avalon is without doubt comparable to any restaurant in the whole of the Costa. The bar is sociable and very cosy. Also and most importantly the professional service provided by Kevin alex and their amazing staff is second to none. They provide, without doubt, some of the best culinary delights in Nerja

The Avalon also has a large, private car park with wheelchair access to the restaurant, bar and terrace.
Accomodation:
As a bonus the Avalon has accommodation at reasonable rates. Why not spend a couple of night there and really spoil yourselves.
Firstly the Avalon’s light and spacious bedrooms are all individually decorated. Secondly, they have en suite bathrooms with walk in showers in every room. Thirdly the private terraces have sea and mountain views. Finally, all rooms have wifi, flat screen TV’s with satellite channels and hot and cold air conditioning.

La Bottega Restaurant another favorite in our Nerja Best restaurant guide:
La Bottega is an Italian restaurant (arguably the best in Nerja) and they also serve beautiful Mediterranean cuisine. It is a family run restaurant, that opened in Nerja on the 12th of may 2017. The owners, Enzo and Lucia, focus on offering genuine dishes both from Italian and Spanish tradition. Most importantly they have a wide selection of wines from all over the world. Fresh daily products are certainly worked by the chefs, offering guests a great dining experience. Enjoy!
We had a lunchtime meal on New Years Eve and we would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely restaurant in our Nerja Best restaurant guide. The Prawns & Calamari Skewers were absolutely gorgeous at 16.50 euros and the Beef Entrecôte at 21.90 was to die for.

They are certainly very passionate about drinks and change their wine offers every year following the enologist recommendations and their personal taste. For instance, their cellar counts a selection of more than 100 different “bodegas” mainly from Spain and Italy but also from France, Germany, New Zealand, California, South Africa and South America. Above all, they offer a wide selection of wine by the glass to match the fabulous cuisine they offer.
La Bottega Gin Bar in our Nerja Best restaurant guide:
Since they opened in 2017 they have established themselves as a reference in Nerja for Gin & Tonics. For example, they match various botanicals and tonic waters to the gins they serve. They have recently expanded next door to create a new bar and lounge area. Here, the guests can taste a nice glass of wine while they’re waiting for a table or just drink a warm brandy after dinner.

Cafeteria Tai best Chinese in our Nerja Best restaurant guide
The Tai restaurant is in my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in Nerja. Their prices are so reasonable and their house wine at €7.50 is very drinkable. Every time I go there I say I am going to try something different to the hot grilled duck, but guess what, it’s so good I have it every time! Never had a bad meal and it will always be at the top of our favourite restaurants in Nerja.
We have been to every Chinese restaurant’s in Nerja. However, to clarify, this is the best, this is because they serve some of the best chines culinary delights in Nerja. In conclusion the services provided by Eva and her staff are second to none and we would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

This is the best ever Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. (Many times) Their hot duck on a sizzling plate is excellent. Never had a bad meal and it will always be at the top of our favorite restaurants in Nerja. Very, very reasonably priced. House wine under €8 and is very good.
September 2021:
Everything we ordered was delicious. Consequently, we believe it is by far the best Chinese we’ve had in Nerja. We had some lovely spring rolls, Thai prawns, Singapore noodles and special fried rice. Portions were generous and also the wine list was extremely good value. Service was quick and helpful. Highly recommended.
January 2020:
Most importantly they serve the best dim sum ever. We have been going in since the day it opened. The food is the best. The staff are very attentive. And when getting a take away nothing is any bother. And you can have a drink while you wait. Can not wait until we go back in 5 star food and service

El Refugio restaurant Nerja Best restaurant guide
We have only recently started to use this restaurant which is a great find as the food is excellent and the trout in almond sauce at 14.50 Euros is to die for. It is on Calle de la Diputación Provincial only a short walk from the Balcon. They have a fabulous extensive menu
Here you can try dishes of international cuisine. You can share a unique lamb shoulder, a tasty seafood paella and some well-worked tiger prawns with your friends and have a good time here. Don’t forget to eat the enticing pudding, the homemade fruit cake or the amazing apple pie at Restaurante El Refugio. Here they also have excellent house wine, an unbeatable liqueur or a spectacular sangria. Their sensational coffee receives positive feedback.
Rainer and Stephanie make sure that every guest feels welcome and comfortable. Rainer, with his golden humor and entertaining personality, adds to the overall experience. He is especially good with children keeping them entertained while you enjoy his wonderful culinary delights in Nerja. All staff are friendly and attentive, always willing to answer any questions and make recommendations for food and wine. Outdoor seating is available, and the restaurant is definitely children-friendly.
This place is the perfect place to celebrate your wedding. One positive aspect of this place is that the staff is creative. You’re going to love their prompt service. Customers of this restaurant say that they found their prices reasonably priced. Pleasant décor and a modern atmosphere help your guests feel relaxed.
