What are the beaches like in Nerja in this great seaside resort ?
So your planning a holiday or longer stay in Nerja …
If you have never visited this wonderful Picturesque coastal town of Nerja on the fantastic Costa Del Sol, then I can say, without a doubt, that whichever area you choose, you will enjoy one of the best holidays ever in this amazing place.
Choosing the centre of Nerja town, ensures that car hire is definitely not necessary, with walking being almost everyone’s preferred choice to get around. The terrain in the centre of Nerja is mostly flat, and in many cases, pedestrianised, with wonderful whitewashed streets, adorned with the most vibrant colours from the many individual shops, bars and cafes, yet retaining its relaxing peaceful ambiance and natural beauty.
The hub of the town, is the totally breath-taking and famous Balcon de Europa, with it’s stunning white church of St. Salvador at one end, and the incredible views of the bay and the sea and mountains at the other. It is simply fantastic just to walk around and view the scene, or just to sit in one of the many lovely and welcoming cafes and bars simply to enjoy those precious moments of relaxation – not to mention the warm golden Costa Del Sol sun that Nerja so adequately provides.
Meanwhile, if you should feel like exploring out of the town – not likely on your first visit as Nerja is so gorgeous – but if you do – then the bus station is within easy reach, and you can visit the lovely Spanish coastal Village of Maro, or the award-winning mountain village of Frigiliana – just about 15 minutes ride from the centre. A must to see! There are many more places to visit on the bus, and I will mention these in future blogs….
Staying in the centre of Nerja guarantees a lively, but gentle atmosphere. The Spanish people here are warm, welcoming and friendly. Nightlife can be found all in one little are of Tutti frutti Square, whilst away from that square, there is an amazing selection of Restaurants, bars and cafes dotted all around the town for lunch, or a delicious evening dinner in a totally relaxed and safe atmosphere. Children are welcome with parents in every restaurant, and indeed Spanish families can be seen out
together in the balmy summer evenings, creating a wonderful sense of families for all nationalities to join and enjoy! Yes, Nerja must be one of the loveliest places in the world to stay, with something for everyone, and everything you could ever want or need.
